Default Black Widow Capture Without Factions

I've been searching for a while on how to capture a Black Widow from UW, however all of the mentioned Hero Builds I've found use some skills from Factions. Unfortunately, Factions is the only campaign I do not own.

I'd like to do this myself as I have no idea if anyone runs spider captures anymore and if so how much they would even cost. Mostly I'm doing it now for the rare pet monument as the other two rare pets are in Factions.

This page should help you out:

http://www.guildwiki.org/Spider_run

As for builds... The biggest threath in UW (if using the above method) will be Bladed Aatxe. They can deal over 200 damage in a single hit. Protection Prayers like Protective Spirit and Aegis will help alot. Also, melee counters like Blinding Surge, Ineptitude etc. etc. will make them easy to deal with.

If you can counter them, the rest of it shouldnt be much more difficult then standard PvE areas. These 2 hero builds; http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Team_-_2_Mesmer_Hero_Midline will make it a breeze. I know there are some Factions Skills in there, but you can just replace them with something else

I did my spider run with myself plus 3 heroes, i.e. a party of four, so it should be pretty doable with 7. I'd suggest a few things:

- Read the wiki linked above and take it to heart, e.g clear areas before accepting quests etc.

- Be very wary of popups and patrols. Just pull everything. Assume that if you charge a group there will be a popup or a patrol will alter its route to intervene. You'll be right half the time.

- Take caster shutdown for the dryders -- interrupts, Maelstrom, knockdown warriors, what have you. Flag your heroes apart before engaging them. The dryders are nasty.

- Take melee defence for the Aatxes like Aegis, air/earth blinding, Ineptitude and so on.

- Read the wiki entry on the ghosts in the last quest you need to do and take something that can either strip their prots or put damage through them. I didn't think to, and I ended up killing them very slowly with life steal from a spirit of Vampirism.

any non-awful 7 hero build should be able to complete Clear the Chamber and Wrathful Spirits. That's all you need.

Wow, we can have 7 hero parties now? I stopped playing probably a year and a half ago, so this must be a recent development. Thanks for the info, I'm probably going to try this tonight along with some other title grinding.
